Internet of Things

The connection with the future ....

The term " Internet of Things " was coined in 1999 by Kevin Ashton, co-founder and executive director of the MIT-based research consortium Auto-ID Center.
In everyday life as in the main industrial and biomedical fields, the Internet of Things is able to equip any object and application with autonomous sensorial and decisional skills through the creation of a network of connected objects.

The object connected to the network can be represented by devices, equipment, systems and systems, tangible materials and products, works and goods, machines and equipment.

The communication of objects on the net has two purposes: monitoring and control .

Monitoring: achieving the first objective, it is possible to acquire data in a distributed and real-time way for the subsequent analysis and processing of aggregated information, for example, on a patient's vital parameters or on the state of health of machines and equipment within a production plant.

Control: The availability of data and information, with the highlighted properties, also allows to realize distributed and non-automation and control applications, conveniently through the implementation on embedded systems, which allow, for example, to improve the quality of life and the security in home automation and optimize production processes in the industrial sector.

One of IoT's main applications is in the sport industry
